This Guide Teaches The 38 Cast-Ons You Need For Mastery
To decide which cast-on tutorials to include, I analyzed the top 100 patterns on Ravelry and combed them for every cast-on called for. I grilled my Facebook followers about every cast-on they'e ever heard of and wanted to learn. And I pored through the best cast-on reference books to uncover anything that I'd missed.
I knitted more than a hundred swatches while putting together this course, trying to find just the cast-ons that you need to learn.
I knitted them with stockinette stitch and with ribbing. Paired them with traditional and stretchy bind-offs. Tested how easy they were to knit into.
And then I went over them all again, looking for things that might trip you up and the tips you'd need to make doing them easier.

✓ Decorative
✓ Invisible
✓ Moebius

What Is Casting On?
Casting on is what you do when you put stitches on the needle at the beginning of your project so that you can start to knit. Most knitters know one cast-on: the one they were taught when they first learned how to knit.
If this is the case with you, know that there's no reason to limit yourself to a few basic cast-ons.
Regardless of which cast-on you learned when you first started knitting, there is definitely a cast-on out there that is faster, easier, prettier or more interesting, or just better suited to your project - and that's where this book comes in.
It's time to dive in and enjoy the variety of cast-ons available to you. Learn more below.

What KnitFreedom Students Say About This Cast-Ons Knitting Class:
I Would Always Just Start Over
You are simply amazing. In five-plus years of knitting, I have never even considered replicating a dropped cast-on stitch; I would always just start over. This video makes the actual construction of the stitch so clear and simple that all I can say is, “Why didn’t I think of that?”!
– Brian M.
Exactly What I Was Looking For
This Chinese Waitress cast on is exactly what I was searching for. And the video is so well done that my 10 yr old (we're both new knitters) did the rest of the cast-on for her new mitts herself! Your videos really are the best out there. You saved me last summer when I dropped a stitch and didn't know what on earth to do. Thanks so much!
– Calif Mom
Love The New Guide
Love the new KNITFreedom Video Guide to Cast-Ons, I have used several new ones in my knitting already! Great resource!
– Kandi C.
Enhances My Knitting
Just need to put my 2 cents in on your latest class.... Cast Ons..... love love love love love love..... you at your best! I now have the ability to pick a cast on that enhances my knitting rather than just a means to an end. Who would have ever though that casting on can be a decorative stitch! Once again I learn more following you around than in the last 10 years on my own..... keep it up and I will forever by a devoted fan!
– Aticdwelrs
Clear and Easy to Follow
Very clear, very easy to follow even for someone who is new to casting on techniques.
– Sandra (EuripidestheCat on Ravelry)
A Great Help For Beginners
As a beginner in knitting I truly appreciate your Cast-Ons ebook. It's a great help and makes that part of knitting much easier to understand.
– Carol A.
Better Than 4 Bottles of Tylenol
For less than the price of 4 bottles of extra strength Tylenol I just treated myself to the bundled package deal on Cast Ons and Bind Offs. Thank you SO much, Liat, for really thinking these tutorials through and covering all the bases so meticulously.
Truly, the cast on and the bind off are crucial points in every project, no matter how much you spend on gorgeous yarn and no matter how well you execute the rest of an intricate pattern. Casting on and binding off are like launching and landing an aircraft--- ALL important and the difference between success and failure, life or death and 4 bottles of Tylenol and hysterics or a cuppa'n'cruller to celebrate!

About This Class
I created this course in 2013 as the first online video resource to truly give knitters an easy and convenient way to master the art of the cast-on.
In talking with knitters who look for tutorials online, one thing that became very clear was that they were in serious need of a resource that would make it easy for them to know which cast-ons they could use for which projects, and how to do them correctly.
Most knitters aren’t aware that there are over 50 ways to cast on for a project, and that the cast-on you choose can mean the difference between a garment that fits perfectly and one that’s unwearable. Many knitters want to learn new cast-ons but get frustrated looking them up on YouTube.
The result: A clear, easy-to-follow video guide to the top 38 cast-ons you need for mastery.
Materials Needed
To learn the cast-ons in this course, all you need is some scrap yarn and a matching pair of needles.
I show all the techniques with bulky-weight yarn and US size 9 or 10½ needles, but you may have an easier time using worsted-weight yarn and US size 7 (4.5 mm) needles.
