Where to Go From Here
Now that you’ve got the foundations of knitting firmly in place, let’s branch out! I always say that you will learn best and work the hardest on something that really interests you, so what kinds of projects are you excited to learn? Next Steps – E-Books to Try
If you like the look of cables, you are ready to do them! I have a great Cables 101 Video E-Book, where you learn how to make a pair of chunky and super-stylish cabled legwarmers. You know me by now – this is really just an excuse to introduce you to the next level of knitting techniques – reading a chart, cabling with and without a cable needle, creating buttonholes and decorative borders and ties. Consider it a practice round before making a cabled sweater – it has many of the same elements, only it’s a much quicker (and cheaper) knit.
If you want to make hats, mittens, or socks, the next step for you is learning to knit in the round. Again – you’re ready!
I recommend you check out my Magic Loop Video E-Book, which uses the exact skills you’ve learned here, and builds on them to teach you the absolutely easiest way to knit round projects with minimal fuss (and minimal knitting-needle purchases).
If you’ve heard about Continental knitting, the style of knitting where you hold your yarn in the left hand (my preferred style), and if you want to learn more about it, know that the earlier you start, the better.
This style of knitting is fast and efficient, leading to fluid, relaxed knitting movements and relieving any hand, arm, or shoulder strain that you may have from knitting American-style. Check out my Continental-knitting e-book to learn why I have my students do finger-aerobics before we begin, even the secrets to knitting in the dark!
The best way to move forward in your knitting is to invest in the complete Knitting Superstar! Video E-Book course, where I take you from where you are right now to being a highly-accomplished Knitting Superstar.
This is the course KnitFreedom forum members are raving about – it’s got everything you need. Check it out! The Continental Knitting and Magic Loop video e-books are included, along with seven other progressively-more-challenging modules and video series.
