Bind-Off

Lesson 28 - July 5, 2022

Bind-Off

Even though we're not to the bind-off yet, some knitters have had questions. I recommend you try Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind-Off (JSSBO) for your socks.

Here’s a blog post that goes into detail about the bind-off.

If you have questions on your bind-off, post them here in the comments.

  1. In order to get a flatter, less bulky join for the picot hem BO, can I use Kitchener Stich to attach it to the inside of the sock?

    1. Hi Teresa!
Have you found the join the way it is written to be bulky? I have found it to pretty much disappear on the inside of the sock. It would be very interesting to use Kitchener to join the live edge to the inside, although since you’ll be using purl bumps it won’t look entirely seamless. For me I don’t think it would be worth the trouble, especially on two-at-a-time socks, but there’s no reason why it can’t be done. Try it and see!
      Hugs,
      LIat
