Love the.new arrangement. Thanks!
So happy you are back. You always make it easy to understand how some of these things are done. I have made socks both ways but always find I mess up on the heel when I use the fingering weight. I am working on that now and it looks good so far. Love all the new topics. I appreciate you going slow enough to understand the steps. I did a knit along one time with a confusing cable pattern on each shoulder and no one, including the author ever explained it to me. I took it to a knitting group and they also were confused. I finally got it after the third time. It was listed as a beginner pattern and was not. I know I will love all the new videos.
Hi Wanda,
Thank you so much for your sweet comment! It’s great to be back.
I’m happy you’re loving the pace of the knitalong – I appreciate it too because it gives me time to create the next lesson based on everyone’s questions.
Thanks for being a part of KnitFreedom.
Cheers,
Liat
Thank you so much for all you do! You have contributed to my knitting world and made it a better place to live! I started by knitting socks and I am now ready to move on to shawls. Do you have any plans to do videos on loosing stitches, confusion over yarn overs, or any other issues that will come up? You got me through my intimidation over socks. Can you do the same with shawls?
Hi Gwen,
Thank you so much! I would love to do a video for you on shawls… I’m assuming you mean lace shawls specifically. It’s something I have put a pin in for the future.
I have a couple of videos on Feather and Fan lace which might be helpful as you are getting started:

Oh, the Topic Pages are a terrific resource… to find the real resources! Many thanks for all your hard work. Do remember “family first” and savour these precious days of Milo’s babyhood! They go by way too fast!
All the best,
Ruth
Thank you so much Ruth!! I really appreciate that.

Hooray, thank you, congratulations!!! You keep me sane (well as sane as possible!). These are great additions!
Thank you so much!
Wow, what a great resource! Hope I manage to save it properly to be able to use it as I need it 🤦🏼♀️
Thank you Janet! You can also always find our content by searching in the menu bar. That’s how I find a lot of our stuff, too :) I really appreciate you checking out the new features!
I am so glad to see you so happy and productive again. Missed you!
These are all great topics, not just for beginners, for things to look out for. I can’t tell you how many times I moved one sock to a ‘resting’ needle while I ‘fixed’ its partner, only to see that it was completely backward on the receiving needle. I’ve needed your calm, steady voice to get me back on track. Thanks! Now go squeeze that baby. (That’s banking for when he’s 13 and wants you to emigrate to another continent… without him. It can only get better from there. And it does!)
Wow, thank you so much! I’m laughing now at your comment of Milo as a 13-year-old… oh my goodness. I can hardly wait to see the craziness that is teenager-hood. I love that you told me to go squeeze my baby. Feels like, “Ah, she’s right, I’ve done enough for today.”
My beautiful baby is sleeping, I LOVE it when he does that!! (Something else he’ll do a lot of when he’s a teenager, I imagine.)
Thanks so much for making me smile and for your sweet words about my videos.
Love,
Liat
More complicated stitches–slp1wyib (f); other ways of doing increases; if you’re a “combined knitter”, how to slip stitches (do you have to turn them or is there a way to slip with the combined stitch; anything else that is different when you’re a combined knitter as opposed to continental/english knitter. Thank you.
Hi Kathleen,
Thanks so much for your comment! I think this is an interesting idea. Right now our expertise is not in the area of combination knitting so I would be leading you astray if I said that I could help a lot in that area. You may need to reach out in the Ravelry forums or on Google to see if there are some resources out there specifically for combination knitting.
Thanks!
Liat
I have a problem. I am a self taught Continental knitter. I thought all these years I was doing it right, but now I find out I am twisting the stitch. Someone told me it is the way I am doing the purl stitches on the wrong side. Because I mostly knit in the round it doesn’t always show up. But this last sweater is knit in pieces and I can see my error especially if I drop or have to correct a stitch. Can you help me?
Hi Anita,
I’m so glad you posted! You are actually not doing anything wrong. You’re doing what’s called “combination knitting.” When you create your purl stitches, you are wrapping the yarn clockwise around the needle instead of counter-clockwise. You just need to make sure to knit the stitches through the back look when you knit the next row, otherwise your stitches will end up twisted.
We don’t have any videos on combination knitting on KnitFreedom but I’m sure if you Google it or go on the Ravelry forums you will find a wealth of information.
Please let me know if this helps!
Hugs,
Liat
Glad to hear from you again. Everything you’ve done looks exciting. Thank you!!
Woohoo! Thanks for posting here! I so appreciate your support of KnitFreedom and am glad you are excited about the new things we are doing.
Big hugs to you!
Liat
Almost finished my first pair of toe up socks and have loved the whole process!
Will you do a simple top down or bottom up pull over sweater next, please 💗
Many thanks!
Hi Margaret,
Great to hear from you! Thank you so much for your suggestion about the sweater. I think a simple sweater is a great next step for KnitFreedom. A lot of students have requested this and I will do my best to make it happen soon.
Thank you!
Liat
PS – Yay for your socks!! Happy :D
Thanks SO much for your awesome videos, Liat! I just finished a pair of toe-up socks for my 38-year-old son with the Fleegle heel, thanks to your videos.
Yay!! Barbara, they look great! I love that you made ankle socks. Beautiful yarn choice, too. Thanks for participating and posting!
Hugs,
Liat
Thank you! You are a gifted teacher, Liat! 🥰
I would absolutely love a video or series of videos on how to turn a top down sock pattern into a toe up pattern. This is so totally over my head, and I just know you could explain it where I could understand how to do it.
Hi Linda,
Thanks for the great idea! This has been requested several times by students like you. I myself would have to figure out how to do it, but it seems like a great idea and natural fit for KnitFreedom. I’ve got it on my list!
Hugs,
L
I’m excited to see all the new stuff! Thanks and great to have you back Liat!
Thank you Peggy!
So glad you’re back! Will be going through the entire website as soon as I can.
Thank you Karla! I’m looking forward to getting any feedback you have. Especially if you looked for something and it wasn’t where you expected to find it. Thanks!
I will be using the Topics Pages. Thanks!
Fabulous, thank you Jeanne!
