You Did It! Post Photos of Your Finished Slippers
Congratulations! We've come to the end of our felted slippers knitalong.
I hope you've enjoyed the new skills you've learned and been able to gift a pair of slippers to a loved one (or many) in your life.
If you made the slippers for yourself, I hope your feet feel so loved!
Please share photos of your finished slippers below- we'll be adding them to our "All Done - Post Photos!" chapter in the slippers class as we receive them.
If you haven't finished your slippers, no worries! There is no hurry to complete any knitting projects.
We'll be here if you have any questions, so take your time and enjoy the process.
Thanks so much for knitting with us.
Hugs!!
Today's Step to Get Involved:
Leave a comment below - attach a photo of your finished slippers and let us know what was your favorite thing about this knitalong!
Hmmm. Seems one photo didn’t post so trying again.
Adorable! Glad we got a shot of the toes – that variegated color is so pretty
Took a while but I finally finished, yay! Couldn’t have done it without you two and the excellent videos, thanks! I felted by hand which took way longer than I anticipated because the Swan’s Island yarn (the two shades of orange I used for the sides and cuffs) didn’t felt as quickly or as easily as the other yarns I used for toe/heel and soles. I think I could have felted even longer as I didn’t quite get all the stitch definition out but I didn’t have the strength and was concerned they’d get too short. Anyway, I’m super pleased and intend to use them as heavy “socks” to keep my feet warm while on the couch ;-)) You two are the best!
Marla
I love the shades of orange and brown you used Marla. So glad you enjoyed the pattern and that your toes are nice and cozy this winter :) Thank you so much for sharing with us!
Left a message earlier, which you already responded to, but my image did not seem to show up. Trying one more time. Thanks for the great class!
Thanks so much for joining us! Your slippers turned out great :)
Finally had a night off work and was able to felt these. I have a front loader which was a bit nerve wracking as you cannot stop it in the middle, but I decided to go for a very short cycle and it worked. Took a tip from Wendy Billingsley and used a few min in the dryer on one that was a tad bigger than the other so now they match.
I ran out of red so I used a little black on square #8. Turned out better than I’d expected. Thanks for the fun project!
Susan
Hi Susan, it’s great to see the photos of your finished slippers, thank you so much for sharing! I’m happy you used and shared the tip about the dryer, that’s great advice. Thanks again for participating in this knitalong and for coming and sharing your photos.
Happy holidays and enjoy those slippers!
Liat
Thank you so much. Your classes are amazing.
These look fabulous Merry! So glad you enjoyed the class and have a cute new pair of slippers to show for it :)
I love this project! I’ve always wanted to do some felting and this gave me a great chance to try it. I’m going to make more felted slippers as gifts. This pair is for me, custom shrunk to my feet. Sharing this along with others gave me a boost. Thanks so much for a great fun project.
Dixie
They look fabulous Dixie! I love the shades of blue, and that you were able to felt down to a custom fit . Thank you for sharing :)
Front!
How darling Wendy! I love that orange color with the teal – such a fun color combination. They look wonderful, congrats on a job well done :)
All done! And now I know how to mattress stitch (instead of making it up)! I made the slippers for me so while felting I tried them on several times. The length fits but the ankle is a little loose. I am going to put them heel facing in front of the heater vent tonight. Maybe I can get just a bit more shrinkage! Great project. So interesting to see how squares become slippers!!! Really clever. Now on to your continental knitting course! Wendy
Yay for learning mattress stitch! Also, I love the idea of utilizing the heater vent to help shrink them down more. Thanks so much for participating, and have fun on the continental knitting course :)
I’ve just finished 2 pair and am pleased with the results. Thanks so much for a fun Class! I still have to use the Puffy Paint 😉
By the way, this was my first time felting as well. You certainly have to watch them closely!
Jane they look absolutely fantastic! Great work :) I love how your variegated yarn looks after felting, and the pink & purple pair are just darling. Thank you so much for sharing, and congrats on your first felting project!
Thanks so much Mary Claire!
Here is the toddler slipper with felted buttons, etc.
First pair was toddler size for which I added felted buttons and little deerskin grippers. The second pair of the adult small size slippers is not quite finished. This was my first time using the mattress stitch and I see a few irregularities :~. Started adult large, on circular needle this time, so am knitting two at a time.
I cannot get over how sweet these slippers turned out. The color combination of olive & purple is wonderful! Did you make the felted button yourself?
Great job! :)
I love those colors too! How did you add that little button? That might fix my loose ankle situation! So cute!
Hey, Wendy,
I found a youtube video for making, oh, I think the search was for something like “felted pom pom buttons.” Oh, and the video used a fork. Then I just washed the little poms in a laundry bag to felt them. Just saw your message so hope you were not waiting too long. 🙏
What a clever idea! Will definitely be copying this for the next time I need decorations :)
Is this a small rectangular button that you purchased?
Already posted this on the other thread, but wanted to make it official that I was finished. :-)
Great class and loved learning how to felt.
Success!!! We are so excited – they turned out beautifully. Happy that you got to learn some new felting tricks along the way :)
